College to Corporate

Why should I read this blog?

After four years (5 or 6 if you were an academic red-shirt) of cramming for exams, bad decision making, and living in an area overflowing with people your age, you are thrown into the corporate world with hopes of a happy future.

Responsibility takes on a whole new meaning. You no longer rely on our parents insurance (most of us). The know-it-all you were during college is tossed aside as you experience life in the real world. That’s where this blog comes in!

My focus will be on:

  • Publishing relate-able content for young professionals
  • Conceptualizing corporate situations and stories using my uncanny wit and charm
  • Creating a culture where peers are comfortable sharing their experiences
  • Discussing the impact of current trends on millennials in the workplace

Expect a new blog post on Facebook, Instagram, and/or email at noon pacific standard time every Tuesday. Constructive feedback is always welcomed and necessary to publish the best content. If you are going through a similar situation to any of my posts or have an opinion please let me know.

Why is your blog called Tie Tuesdays?

Is liking ties not enough? Just kidding, here are the three underlying reasons:

  1. Alliteration is awesome
  2. It contrasts old school attire with today’s laid back culture
  3. I want to inspire engagement from my peers, just like the traditional Tie Tuesday inspires togetherness

Keep it casual until next Tuesday!

I thought I would be the first to comment…..I’m looking forward to your upcoming posts. Hopefully I can contribute once in a while to give a babyboomers perspective to your posts. A great topic would be….”What three things would you tell a senior in College ready to join the workforce for the first time”?

Thank you for the feedback, GVB! I would love to give the people a range of perceptions on the transition into the real world. I’ll be sure to use that topic down the road as I become more established in the blogosphere!
